As you are aware, if a new Federal budget is not in place by
midnight, there will be a partial shutdown of the Federal Government and some
employees will be furloughed. In the context of shutdown furloughs, the
term "excepted" isused to refer to employees who are funded through
annual appropriations who are nonetheless excepted from the furlough because
they are performing work that, bylaw, may continue to be performed during a
lapse in appropriations.

While we are still optimistic that a budget will be passed, we are
making the necessary preparations for a shutdown. As valuable cooperators
and stakeholders, I wanted to inform you of the anticipated status of our
operations. Our Plant Inspection Stations in Miami, and PEV
office will remain fully staffed and operational. Nothing to worry about
so far...
