Governor Selects Gray Swoop to Lead Enterprise Florida

The Florida Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Governor Rick Scott today selected Gray Swoope to lead Enterprise Florida.

As Florida’s business and community leaders focus on returning Florida to the number one state for private sector job creation and innovation, Governor Rick Scott’s selection of Gray Swoope, one of the nation’s leading economic development professionals, is a big win for Floridians and a perfect fit for Florida’s future.

For more than two decades, Florida has been competing against top-level economic developers like Gray Swoope. His experience, combined with the restructuring of Florida’s economic development system, and Governor Scott’s pro-jobs budget recommendations, will send an international message that Florida is again on the move.

Florida’s extensive network of local economic development organizations, combined with a successful system of public private partnerships, will infuse speed into the job creation process and return Florida back to the nation’s number one job creator status.

As Florida seeks to grow tourism, agri-business, and stabilize the housing market, Gray’s experience along with the consolidation and streamlining of the state’s economic development system, will jump start the targeted high-wage industries in clean technology, life sciences, information technology, aviation and aerospace, homeland security and defense, financial and professional services, and trade and logistics.

Congratulations to Gray Swoope.
